A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MR. HENRY DEAN GRAY UPON HIS RETIREMENT AS DISTRICT 5 SUPERVISOR OF YALOBUSHA COUNTY.

WHEREAS, Mr. Henry Dean Gray was first elected as the Supervisor of District 5 in Yalobusha County in 1980 and will retire in December, 1999; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Gray, born in Yalobusha County on March 5, 1928, attended Big Creek Elementary School and was a stellar basketball player at Coffeeville High School, where he graduated in 1956; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Gray has worked for the National Guard, the State Highway Department, the Sheriff's Department as a Deputy and has farmed; and

WHEREAS, actively involved in his community, Mr. Gray is a member of several organizations, including the American Legion, the Magnum Hunting Club and the Mississippi Fox Hunters Association; he is a former president of the National Fox Hunters Association; a charter member and former president of the Skuna Valley Hunting Club; and currently, serves on the Board of Directors for the National Fox Hunters Association; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Gray has been lovingly supported in all his endeavors by his two children, Deana and Gaylon; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives of the State of Mississippi to recognize and commend such outstanding Mississippians as Mr. Gray, a responsible and effective supervisor who has strived to serve the best interest of the people he represents:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mr. Henry Dean Gray upon his retirement as Supervisor of District 5 in Yalobusha County and extend to him our heartiest wishes for success in all his future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Henry Dean Gray and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
